It's all about status...

No, not bling bling.  Status in terms of the updates that stream everywhere around us in the online world.  There was a great post by Eric Schonfeld over at Techcrunch last week called "Jump into the Stream", which in turn referenced John Borthwick's "Distribution...now", a longer but really worthwhile read.

There is so much depth in the subject that we will revisit the concepts often - after all, the stream is our business as well as our passion.  One thing we always work with clients on is how to make sure the message brings value to the communities being targeted.  Of course, this is critical to engaging in a meaningful conversation and getting people excited.  Beyond that, as the value shifts more and more to the status stream, the importance of being able to be in a true dialogue with you market becomes paramount.

When the stream is the experience, users dip in and out all the time.  And  if you are a brand trying to connect with them than you better have a lot to say, because one "big" message can drown quickly (working the stream metaphor to death).
